February has started. January passed unbelievably quickly for me... how was yours? Hope you enjoyed our new year's gift!
In February, we will have another national holiday, Foundation Day. Unlike the rest of unique ones, you might be able to guess which kind of holiday it is. No, that's not the day Japan got founded - Nobody knows when exactly it was.
This day was set to February 11th in 1873 by calculating the current date from the ancient date when the very first emperor was enthroned. Although this national day got abolished under GHQ after WWII, we got it back to the same day, February 11th, in 1966.
So this national holiday is not the day Japan actually got founded, but the day we celebrate we got our nation.
I actually didn't know this fact until I wrote this blog! This is such a beautiful story that tells how much we love Japan :) I personally live overseas so noticed that I love my country so much and how happy I am as a Japanese. Hope people who live in Japan realize that and feel grateful with their usual daily life as well.
Therefore, we will be off on February 11th. Please be advised that it'll take another day for you to receive your items.
Thank you always for your understanding!
