    Good, but slightly dangerous when cutting harder ingredients. Use Benriner mandoline instead!

    This is an excellent and very sharp julienne peeler, but is only suitable for julienning relatively soft ingredients. With anything hard, such as carrots, there is enough resistance that you're running the risk of cutting yourself if you lose control for even a split second while you're applying enough force to cut. I would recommend the Benriner mandoline for any hard ingredients.

    Julienne Peeler

    The julienne peeler is a must have tool for any chef, gives a direct straight cut julienne with speed. The quality of the product impressed and the sharpness of it is remarkable.

    Great companion gadget to the swivel peeler

    I liked the Suncraft swivel peeler so much that I bought the julienne version as well. It took a little practice, but I finally got the technique right and it's very efficient. The action is like sharpening a pencil: great for veg, but also produces neat shreds of cheese. I find it much safer than my old julienne peeler, which had the blade set at right angles and frequently julienned my hand as well. The long handle makes this peeler much easier to control and there's a safe distance between you and whatever you're shredding. Every cook needs both of these – I haven't chopped an onion with a knife since I bought them. Between them, they slice and shred everything.
