  • The standard Yamada Woks are round-bottomed and shipped with manufacturer's protective coating to keep them from rusting during transport and storage.
  • Flat-bottomed and uncoated option is also available on a make-to-order basis.
  • Uncoated wok requires much shorter seasoning time before the first use, as it is no need to burn off the protective coating over high heat to expose the bare metal surface.
  • Due to the made-to-order nature of flat-bottomed and uncoated woks, please allow 4-8 weeks before shipment.
  • Made-to-order products are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled once the order is placed.
  • If your order includes a made-to-order item and items already available, the whole order will be ship in the same time (only one delivery) once the made-to-order product is available. We recommend you to order separately items in stock.

Key Features

  • Flat-bottomed.
  • Carefully and individually machine-hammered 5000 times by the skilled Yamada craftsmen.

Use & Care

  • The iron woks are usually shipped with a protective coating. The pan must be thoroughly seasoned before use.
  • Designed for use on gas. (The 1.2 mm thick cooking surface may not be thick enough for electric or induction cooktops and could cause the bottom to warp.)
  • We recommend 1.6 mm flat-bottomed Yamada woks to use on electric or induction cooktops.

Yamada is a third generation family-owned artisan factory and they are the only producer of the hammered woks in Japan.
