Coating Instructions

  • Our standard Yamada Woks are shipped with manufacturer's protective coating to keep them from rusting during transport and storage.
  • Uncoated option is also available on a make-to-order basis.
  • Uncoated wok requires much shorter seasoning time before the first use, as it is no need to burn off the protective coating over high heat to expose the bare metal surface.
  • Due to the made-to-order nature of Uncoated woks, please allow 4-8 weeks before shipment.
  • Made-to-order products are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled once the order is placed.
  • If your order includes a made-to-order item and items already available, the whole order will be ship in the same time (only one delivery) once the made-to-order product is available. We recommend you to order separately items in stock.

Key Features

  • Machine-hammered over 5,000 times to ensure perfect interaction with your cooking oil.
  • Heat transmitted uniformly as different parts of the pan have different thickness, depending upon proximity to heat source.

Use & Care

  • Seasoning directions: Turn the fan on, then place the pan on the stove burner at high heat. Always use a towel wrapped around the handle to avoid burns.

    You'll see some smoke coming off of the pan right away- it's harmless; continue heating the pan until it stops smoking (can take over 30 minutes). Then, turn off the flame, and let the pan cool for a few minutes, before rinsing with cold water.

    Now, pour a generous amount of oil into the pan and sauté some vegetables. When they are cooked, throw them away and once again rinse the pan with water, then wipe dry. Finally, coat the pan with a small amount of oil, and you are ready to begin cooking.

    This procedure is a bit time-consuming, but you only need to do it once, and it will guarantee a long life for your pan, and best results for your food!
