The Recipe to Cook an Apple Pie with a Small Iron Pan

Apple pies are loved by all ages.

The attraction of apple pies is a harmony of crispy pie and smooth sweet apple filling. It is interesting that homemade apple pies taste different depending on families. It is good for snack as well as for dessert on special occasions such as Christmas.

Today we are going to tell you a recipe to make an apple pie with a small iron pan. It would be even more exciting if you serve it in the pan straight to the table.

Ingredients (3-4 servings)

Either sweet or sour apples can be used to make an apple pie.

This time we use a small pan from Sori Yanagi. The amount of ingredients should be adjusted depending on the size of pan you use.

  • 2 apples
  • 3 tbsp of granulated sugar
  • 1 frozen pie sheet
  • 1 egg yolk

The brand or type of apples doesn’t matter, and either sweet or sour apples will be fine to make an apple pie. You can also use apples not suitable for food or leftovers.

How to Make an Apple Pie

Let’s see how to make an apple pie. It can be fun to make it with your kids.

1. Simmer the apples

Heat the granulated sugar in the pan and add apples once the sugar dissolves.

Peel the apples and remove the stalk and core. Then cut each apple into 8 pieces. Heat the granulated sugar in the pan and add apples once the sugar dissolves.

If it is hard to simmer a total of 2 apples at a time, just divide them into 2 portions. When the apples get soft, move them to a container.

4. Put another half of the pie sheet to further bake

Place the simmered apples and put another half of the pie sheet over them.

5. Apply the egg yolk and further bake

Apply the egg yolk to the top of the pie and bake it in an oven that was pre-heated to 200℃ for about 25-30 minutes. Then it’s ready to eat!
