Ordering Process
Globalkitchen Japan offers a thoughtfully curated range of products. We hope you enjoy browsing and selecting from our collection.
To place an order, add items to your cart. On the cart page, enter your delivery address. Available shipping methods and rates will appear automatically based on the destination, weight, and size of the items selected.
Once your selection is complete, proceed to checkout. If you use Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, you may take advantage of express checkout from the cart page.
At the checkout page, please enter your shipping and payment details. A valid email address and phone number are required, as these may be used by couriers to contact you regarding delivery. Logging into your account will allow your information to be pre-filled for a quicker checkout.
If you have a discount code, please enter it in the "Discount code or gift card" field.
Please double-check your billing and shipping information before placing your order. If both addresses are the same, no additional entry is necessary. Kindly note that billing details cannot be changed once your order is finalized.
A confirmation email will be sent after placing your order. Please keep it for reference until your items arrive.
Payment Information
We accept the following payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Our default currency is Japanese Yen (JPY). However, you may switch to other currencies such as US Dollars (USD), Euros (EUR), British Pounds (GBP), Australian Dollars (AUD), or Canadian Dollars (CAD), depending on your location. When a different currency is selected, a 2% currency conversion fee will be applied to the product price. Additionally, slight rounding adjustments may occur depending on the currency.
All payments are ultimately processed in Japanese Yen. Due to currency exchange rates set by your credit card provider or PayPal, there may be a discrepancy between the displayed amount at checkout and the actual amount charged. This also applies to refunds and may be affected by fluctuations in exchange rates over time.
Your payment statement may show "GLOBALKITCHENJP" as the billing descriptor, along with the store name or other identifiers. For PayPal transactions, the merchant name will appear as “Orizuru Co., Ltd.”
Product Availability and Shipping Schedule
Most orders are dispatched within approximately 5 business days, except Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, from the day after the order date.
Please be aware that certain products are available only via special order or made-to-order. In addition, larger order volumes—even for in-stock items—may require more than 5 business days to process and ship. We kindly ask for your understanding.
Shipping Information
All items are shipped directly from Japan.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. We will also send you delivery updates as tracking information becomes available. Please note that a signature may be required upon delivery, so we kindly ask that you be available around the expected delivery date.
For inquiries about your package after shipment, please contact your local courier with the provided tracking number.
If a package is returned to us due to unclaimed delivery or expired holding periods, our Returns & Refunds Policy will apply.
International Shipping Carriers
We offer international shipping via Japan Post, FedEx, and DHL. When using postal services, your package will be handled by Japan Post within Japan. After leaving the country, it will be transferred to the local postal service in the destination country for final delivery.

Import Taxes & Customs Fees
The default currency for displayed prices is Japanese Yen (JPY). The declared value for customs purposes is based on the intrinsic value of the product and will be declared at its regular price in JPY. Please note that any discount coupons are applied to the product subtotal but will not affect the declared value.
As all orders are dispatched from Japan, the items will be considered imported goods in the country of delivery. Any import duties, taxes, or customs clearance fees imposed by the destination country will be borne by the customer. These fees are not included in your online payment and may be charged separately upon arrival. We appreciate your understanding.
Customs duties, tax rates, and customs clearance fees vary by country. We recommend checking with your country's customs website or relevant authorities before placing an order.
Depending on the shipping method selected, you may choose to pay import duties and taxes either at checkout or upon delivery.
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is a shipping option in which import-related costs—such as duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees—are prepaid at checkout. With this method, no additional payment will be required upon delivery.
In contrast, DAP(Delivered at Place) means that the recipient is responsible for paying duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees directly to the carrier or customs authority at the time of import.
For the DDP option, estimated duties and taxes are calculated in advance based on the items in your cart. Please note that this option may be more expensive than DAP, as it includes prepayment handling fees and customs-related processing costs.
For customers in the United States
As of August 29, 2025, the De Minimis exemption in the United States has been suspended. As a result, shipments valued at $800 or less are no longer exempt from duties and taxes, and all imported goods may be subject to applicable duties, taxes, and related fees.
Additionally, effective February 24, 2026 (Eastern Time), a 10% global surcharge (additional duty) has been applied under Section 122. Please note that this change is based on U.S. government policy, and duty rates or regulations may be subject to further changes.
Furthermore, products containing steel or aluminum may be subject to additional duties under Section 232 of the U.S. Trade Expansion Act. Certain copper products may also be subject to measures under Section 232.
Please note that details regarding duties, taxes, and related fees may be charged to the recipient by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) or the shipping carrier.

For customers in Australia
Starting July 1, 2018, a 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) is imposed on consumer goods priced at AUD 1,000 or less when sold to customers in Australia. The GST is collected during checkout by the seller or online platform and remitted to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
For purchases exceeding AUD 1,000, GST is not collected during checkout. Rather, it will be assessed and payable to customs authorities upon the goods' arrival in Australia.

For customers in New Zealand
Effective April 1, 2026, a new regulatory fee imposed by the New Zealand government will apply to imported shipments with a declared value of NZD 1,000 or less.
・Export processing fee: NZD 2.48 per shipment + GST (15%)
・Import processing fee: NZD 2.21 per shipment + GST (15%)
This fee applies to all types of shipments, including commercial (B2B), consumer (B2C), and document shipments.

For customers in the United Kingdom
Starting January 1, 2021, a 20% VAT is applied to imports into the United Kingdom valued at £135 or below. This tax is collected at the point of sale by the seller or online platform and remitted to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
For purchases valued above £135, VAT is not collected at the point of sale. Instead, it is assessed and payable to UK customs when the goods enter the country.
For customers in France
Effective March 1, 2026, France has introduced a new fee called the Parcel Processing Charge (TPC). This fee applies to shipments with a declared value of under €150 imported from outside the EU into France (including Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Réunion) and Monaco, and is charged €2 per item.
This fee is assessed at the time of import, and the carrier will bill and collect the charge from the recipient before delivery. This measure is considered a temporary arrangement until the EU-wide handling fee system planned under the EU Customs Reform is implemented.
Please note that this fee is applied per HS code. For example, if a parcel contains one knife and two sharpening stones, two different HS codes apply, resulting in a total fee of €4.
Disclaimer
Due to global circumstances such as geopolitical events or pandemics, shipping carriers may suspend their services without prior notice. If a shipping suspension is confirmed after your order has been placed, the order will be canceled and a full refund will be issued.
Please be advised that deliveries may be delayed due to factors such as severe weather, natural disasters, customs clearance procedures, or logistical disruptions. We kindly ask for your understanding that we cannot be held responsible for delays resulting from such force majeure events.
