Unboxing
The tumbler is packed in a simple wooden box lined with yellow satin cloth. When you open it, the inside of the box practically glows like the inside of a treasure chest. It’s a simple, but very nice touch, especially if you plan to give it as a gift.
First Impression
The tumblers are light but sturdy. They have some give if gently squeezed, but it’s nothing but a firm handshake to them.
I’ve written before about my appreciation for all things metal. The warm shine of gold and copper are almost hypnotic. In contrast, their cold touch and tinging noises strangely gives those metals a sense of quality that’s hard to describe. It’s almost like our brains are preprogrammed to see something special about them. Combine copper’s warm shine and cold touch with the honeycomb pattern and you have a beautiful object that makes you want to hold it for long hours with friends and family.
Taking Them For a Test Drink
I’m not a beer drinker myself, but I have been told that you guys like your beer cold. We at Globalkitchen Japan believe you will be happy to know that these tumblers are very good at communicating the crisp bite of any chilled beverage. I tried drinking some carbonated water with one of the tumblers and I definitely felt the cold both in my lips and hand. Very nice.
The surface is buttery smooth, making the experience of both imbibing some hydration and holding the hydration a pleasant experience. I almost felt royal sipping on my little arctic bubbles.
